The sport is outstanding. It’s also quite no nonsense – none of the social media, bullying, make up and boy drama that seems to be happening at other nearby schools.
We looked at a lot of the schools you mention too and DD chose Rugby. As above, it is a fairly down to earth school, not flashy and though academic not an academic hot house environment. It doesn’t matter if they are sporty or not there is provision for all. Co-curricular choice is amazing and the personal development programme is very good. If you have bumps importantly the pastoral care is great. A friend described the kid’s that come out of Rugby as being really nice, well educated and not in any way snooty. Would agree, it is a progressive school, with the girls having a strong equal voice as its been co-ed for so long. The head is excellent, whilst not as high profile as the executive head Peter Green, he gets on with the job, seems to know all the children by name and is very accessible.
Rugby is fairly down to earth, especially compared with others of its ilk. DD has a few friends there and is considering it for 6th form .
