Boarding students receive extensive educational guidance and moral support, it’s not just another residential arrangement. The team fosters a sense of individual and community responsibility within the boarding community, encouraging students to develop independence, resilience, and confidence.

Boarding life at TASIS England is filled with fun and adventure. The action-packed programme includes travel, social events, weekend activities in London and the surrounding areas, community service projects, and sports. These experiences help students form lifelong friendships and create lasting memories. The TASIS England residential programme is one that students will cherish forever.

Extracurricular Activities in TASIS England

At TASIS England, the visual arts programme is a vibrant part of everyday school life. Students develop their technical skills, explore the creative process, and learn about the history of art and the contributions of the Old Masters. Whether it’s painting, photography, or sculpture, art is woven into the fabric of the school experience. The Fleming Gallery regularly showcases the work of both professional artists and students, while the Visiting Artist Programme offers workshops and lectures, engaging students of all ages with practising artists.

The performing arts are another cornerstone of the TASIS England experience. All students have opportunities to engage with music and drama, whether in the classroom or after school. For Middle and Upper School students, film is an additional option. The Fleming Theatre comes alive with dramatic performances and instrumental and choral concerts. A wide range of music lessons is offered to students of all ages, helping them to discover more about themselves and to appreciate the contributions of others through collaborative artistic endeavours.

Sports and physical activities play a crucial role in delivering the TASIS England mission. The co-curricular programme is designed to develop students’ confidence and resilience through physical, technical, social, and mental challenges. Competitive sports teams and individual athletes compete with peers from other international schools, UK schools, and local clubs. For those who prefer recreational sports, there are many options available without the need to compete. Sports on offer include football (soccer), volleyball, basketball, tennis, swimming, lacrosse, badminton, track, cross-country, golf, and swimming.

In addition to competitive sports, a wide range of recreational clubs and activities is available to students. These include STEAM, Duke of Edinburgh, Model United Nations (MUN), horse riding, gardening, medical society, art club, and sign language, among many others. The programme centres on promoting physical and emotional health and the importance of social interaction. With a “no drop” policy, every student has the opportunity to participate in their chosen sport or activity and represent the school positively.

Leadership opportunities abound at TASIS England. Students can contribute to the learning community in various roles, whether as a Lower School class representative, Middle School student leader, Upper School prefect or dormitory house leader, or member of student government. The TASIS Leadership Academy offers Upper School students further opportunities for personal growth, leadership development, and community involvement. As an American ex-pat living in England, I cannot think of a better school for my children. When we moved here from China, we looked at all of the area schools, even a couple in London but couldn’t find the right fit. When we stumbled upon TASIS we knew we’d found the perfect school for both of our children. TASIS challenges them while offering support and understanding at the same time. It cares for the wellbeing of the student and has an incredible community of support. From Buddy Families, to transition team support, grade level coffees.
My children have blossomed over the last two years here. We plan to stay for another 4 years. I highly recommend taking a look at TASIS.

My son joined TASIS a year ago, after ten years at a different school in another country. His (and therefore our) transition was very smooth; this is due both to the exceptional assistance given to new families and to the dedication of his teachers.
Class sizes are small therefore teachers are able to address individual needs and strengths. Standards and expectations are high, but students are well supported and lessons/classes are designed to bring out the best in each student. The teachers clearly love their jobs. Communication between parents and teachers is age appropriate. In HS (where he is), students are encouraged to advocate for themselves, but parents are kept in the loop.
The parent body is extremely active and very welcoming. This is especially important where families are new to the UK and know few people outside of school.
In short, our move to TASIS has been a resounding success and my son is thriving.

This is our second year at TASIS, and it has been a very good move for us. It has been academically challenging for my kids, and they are both much happier at TASIS than they were at their previous school. The heart of the school is what makes such a difference. The parent community is very welcoming. For the most part, the kids support each other, and the teachers seem to care about the students.

This is a fantastic private school that deserves to be ranked with the best of what we have been exposed to in New England, London and New York. The academics are the best provided by any American school in England and I suspect Europe. They are able to challenge highly motivated academic students, but are also able to provide support to less academic children, to a point. Don’t let the college list fool you, the demographics of the school may keep this list from reading like a New England prep school, but the teaching, curriculum and student body will challenge any student. Equally important, the pastoral care is second to none. This school actually cares about its children. The lengths they will go to protect them emotionally is unbelievable. This is perhaps why they don’t have anywhere near the suspension and expulsion rates of some other American schools. The children are truly celebrated for their strengths, kindnesses and academic abilities are consistently valued and rewarded, and it truly nurtures children in an idyllic environment.
