Lower School (Years 7–9):
In the Lower School, Bloxham places emphasis on breadth and exploration. Pupils follow a wide-ranging curriculum that includes English, Mathematics, Science, Geography, History, and Modern Languages (French or Spanish), alongside additional subjects. This approach gives students time to discover where their strengths lie before making GCSE decisions, rather than narrowing choices too early.
Third Form Outdoor Education:
Outdoor Education is a defining feature of the Third Form experience at Bloxham. All pupils take part in a structured programme designed to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. By stepping outside the classroom, students are encouraged to challenge themselves, work collaboratively, and build independence in a supportive setting.
Broader Curriculum:
Bloxham’s co-curricular programme is extensive, with over 100 activities available across sport, creative arts, and specialist clubs. Opportunities range from music, drama, and cooking to competitive sport and interest-led societies. Pupils are encouraged to try new activities early on, with increasing freedom to specialise as they move through the school. In the Sixth Form, students can also take on leadership roles, helping to mentor younger pupils and shape school life.
Academic Tracking and Assessment:
Academic progress at Bloxham is closely monitored through half-termly reporting, which includes grades for progress and Attitude to Learning. Tutors meet regularly with students to discuss performance and next steps, while clear summaries are shared with parents, ensuring consistent communication and support throughout the year.
