Teaching and Learning in Oxford International College

Academic progress is certainly the priority here in Oxford International School. Aside from the full-day classes from Mondays to Fridays, there are exams almost every Saturday. These exams serve as a close monitor for each student’s academic progress throughout the term. Students that get lower than a B in these exams will proceed to support classes in the upcoming week. This monitoring system allows the school to have a data driven approach towards student performance. Towards the end of the term, there will be mock exams and revisions to prepare the students. It’s definitely an intense programme, but that is the price for excellence.

Classes here have an average of 15 students, which is a pretty good teacher-student ratio. Every student here goes through a weekly meeting with their academic supervisor where they can discuss just about anything from personal issues to academic difficulties. There are more than 20 subjects for the students to choose from, but lesser arts options.

Students are generally required to be on campus from 9am to 4pm, with 1 hour lunch in between. The support classes will run from 5.15pm everyday, and dinner is served from 5.30pm. After that, students will go to their respective activities at 7pm and then head back to their boarding houses. There is typically a curfew at 10pm and students do not need to surrender their devices.

Absolutely thrilled with this online platform my girls in years 10 and 8 are incredibly happy, the communication is really speedy and very supportive.
The teachers are a credit to Oxford Inter and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience for my girls.
Without a doubt I would highly recommend to any weary parents to join a fantastic team.
Really couldn’t fault it, and I would whole heartedly recommend it to any parent.

My child is thriving. I was dreading homeschooling, but had no choice as my son’s school was washing their hands of him, letting him be bullied and fall behind. Turns out most of my son’s classmates were in very similar situations and joined Oxford Online School for the same reason. The system just works for us. My son in particular loves Carla and has lost his fear of reading in class. He also loves computer science with Mobola and Spanish with Paula. Never before has he loved going to class. We are excited as he has now chosen his GCSE subjects and is actually so positive about them.
Also have to note that the helpdesk is so quick to reply and the admin team, especially Michelle and Sarah are ever so helpful.

Very good experience. Enquiries were answered by Sarah quickly and efficiently when I enquired about the school. I viewed the online school as I was unsure of how it all works. It’s really easy to use, classes are small. Very interactive with friendly teachers. It’s brilliant that classes are recorded so my daughter is able to watch them again if she gets stuck. We are able to view all her homework and grades which is really handy. I should have done this much sooner.
